We recently had the honour of attending a Parliamentary Round Table on genetic obesity syndromes. It was an important step toward improving early diagnosis and making sure families have fair access to the care and treatments they need.
It was incredibly powerful to be in a room with patients, parents, clinicians and patient organisations, all sharing their experiences and expertise. The discussion was led by an inspiring panel: Tony Goldstone, Dr Elizabeth Forsythe, Paul Dimitri, and BBS UK’s own Angela Scudder, with Sadaf Farooqi guiding the conversation. The passion and commitment to better outcomes for families was clear from everyone there.
A heartfelt thank you to Antonia Bance MP for hosting and for so clearly recognising how vital it is that people living with rare genetic obesity and their families receive timely, compassionate, whole-person care and support.
We’re hopeful that this is just the beginning of meaningful change.
