Alis joined the BBS UK team as an Advice Worker in June 2025.
In 2010 Alis qualified as a teacher, going on to work at a main stream school in South Bristol for many years. Alis wanted to understand the families she was working with more so and stepped into the role of Family Support Worker, alongside her teaching, which enabled her to gain the opportunity to really get to know the families and gain a thorough understanding of how best to support them.
Over the years Alis developed her knowledge in many areas, including supporting pupils with diagnosed and undiagnosed SEN. In her final year of teaching Alis worked in an SEN base, supporting pupils and their families with not only their learning, but all elements of family life, working in a multi-professional capacity to achieve the best possible outcomes for each individual.
Alis lives with her husband, two young children and cat – Robyn! She enjoys exploring natures playground with her family, noting how this really supports her son who is on the ASD pathway.
