Update - 3rd November 2020

The rate of Covid-19 infections in the UK are rising rapidly and the Government have therefore updated their advice.

From Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December, the Government have called for a second lockdown which will:

  1. Require people to stay at home, except for specific purposes.
  2. Prevent gatherings with people you do not live with, except for specific purposes.
  3. Close certain businesses and venues.

These new measures, unlike those during the first lockdown, enable schools, colleges and universities to stay open and as many people as possible continue to work. It also will not require individuals at increased risk to ‘shield’ again although they should be extra careful.

The new measures will apply nationally for four weeks up to Wednesday 2 December. At the end of the period, the Government will look to return to a regional approach, based on the rate of infection at the time.

Detailed advice on all areas relating to Covid-19 can be accessed via the Government website links below.
