Annual General Meeting for 2020
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for BBS UK gives Trustees the opportunity to update members on the activities, achievements and progress for the year. The AGM also gives members the opportunity to vote on who they want to represent them on the Board of Trustees, by electing the Honorary Officers and Trustees. There is always a great deal involved in running the charity and there are many ways to help. This can include volunteering at our events and activity weekends.
BBS UK usually holds its Annual General Meeting during the Family Conference weekend but due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic we have needed to be creative about how to hold our AGM within the required time frame. Safety and the well-being of our members is paramount and the new Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act, permits CIOs like ourselves to temporarily hold our AGM via electronic means. While members will not be able to attend a physical meeting, they will still have the ability and the right to express their views by voting on the matters brought before the electronic AGM.
