Law Graduate LLB Law Upper Second Class, LLM Law Masters Distinction. Aspiring Solicitor. Visually impaired tennis player. I was diagnosed with Bardet Biedl Gene 1 Syndrome in early 2015 during the last year of my Undergraduate degree aged 20. While initially it was a shock and concern, it made certain events that had happened during my childhood make sense with the hindsight of the diagnosis, which ironically has created new and enriching experiences that have made me a better individual.
As a trustee, I want to help those living with the syndrome to overcome the barriers caused by the syndrome in getting active and being able to enjoy inclusive sport that they have always wanted to experience and most importantly that aspirations can be achieved with a little adaption and perseverance, traits all BBS individuals have in abundance.
